Andorrà i Farràs, Esteve

Lleida ? - Barcelona 1934

14 Smith

His artistic production in wrought iron is known since, together with M. Ballarín, he was involved in making the ironwork for Casa Amatller (1898-1900; Passeig de Gràcia, 41, Barcelona), designed by the architect J. Puig i Cadafalch.

He is recorded as having taken part in art exhibitions in Barcelona at which he won several prizes. He was chairperson of the Barcelona Smiths' Guild. While he was at its head, this association intensified its activity and acquired a considerable reputation.

In 1914 he published a catalogue entitled Estampados y repujados en hierro y otros metales (Stamped and Embossed Work in Iron and Other Metals) in which he displayed an extensive ornamental repertoire in the Modernista style, with floral and plant motifs belonging to the Catalan tradition.
