García, Saumell

9 Decorative painter

He is recorded as the person charged with the decorative painting of various establishments, such as the department store called El Indio (1922; Carme, 24), together with Vilaró i Valls, and the Torino café (1902; Passeig de Gràcia, 18; no longer in existence).

At the turn of the century he set up Casa Saumell i Vilaró, decorators, painters and gilders, which worked on the most emblematic buildings of Modernisme, such as, for example, Casa Granell (1902-1904; Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 582), by J.F. Granell Manresa.
